Our programmes for learners are activity-based and learner-centred, reflecting the critical and developmental outcomes in the National Curriculum Statements
Educator training and development
The trained staff at our Education Centre will assist dedicated educators who wish to develop Learning Programmes in collaboration with the Free State Department of Education, to foster environmental literacy and promote Education for Sustainability.

Please select one programme suitable for your class, bearing in mind their grade, language ability and possible links to the curriculum. Bookings are essential. Feel free to discuss any specific needs with our Principal Education Officer.

Education Centre Facilities
This multi-function hall can be booked for meetings, workshops and seminars for organisations related to the SANBI’s core business. Seating for 150 people is available. Catering can be arranged with our restaurant or you may bring your own meal. You may also use our braai facility. This hall is fitted with a multi-media screen for presentations.

Booking information:
- Please book at least one month advance.
- Outings can be arranged on any weekday between 09:00 and 13:00.
- Guided visits cost R5.00 per learner.
- A 50% deposit is payable to secure hall bookings.
- Learners must please wear their school uniform when they visit the Garden for a School Programme.
