RHUS /KAREE AREA

Realising how most species of the genus Rhus, (karee, taaibos or crow-berry)
grow naturally in the Free State, a living collection of these trees has been
established. This part of the garden contains about 20 karee species of different
sizes, from large trees to small pretty shrubs. Karee trees are long-lived and
produce high quality wood and have been used for making furniture and wagons
in the past. The area is no doubt the pride of the garden and our visitors.
