Harold Porter NBG: Book & Souvenir Shop

This little shop has an amazing array of gorgeous fynbos related gifts and souvenirs. There is also a good selection of books on fauna and flora for old and young alike - from first time young naturalists to those who have become fynbos fanatics. One of the available books is a beautifully illustrated guide book to the garden, which also includes its history, written by chief horticulturist and interpretive officer of the garden, Jane Forrester. It will make an ideal souvenir of your visit to the garden.

Beautiful hand-painted mugs with fynbos flowers are available here. There are cross stitch kits of SA birds, fauna and flora and also various hand-embroidered items designed by the shop-owner, Marion, and embroidered by local Xhosa women, which provides them with a source of much needed income.

Other specialities include prints by local world-renowned botanical artist, Vicki Thomas, Annique rooibos skin care products, aloe beauty preparations, herbal teas and other fynbos products including indigenous plant seeds for those with green fingers.

Attractively laid out, this is a great place to do your shopping for birthdays, celebrations, special occasions and thank-you gifts or simply to spoil yourself.
