Restaurants and Venues at Pretoria NBG

There are 2 restaurants at the Pretoria National Botanical Garden

• Mokha Restaurant
• Milkplum Cafe Function & Conference Centre.

Both of these can be hired for functions.

Mokha Restaurant

The Mokha Restaurant is situated within the Pretoria National Botanical Garden. What makes it special is its deck that overlooks the wetland. From here one has a spectacular view of the Garden.

It can be accessed via the visitor parking area so garden entry fees are not necessary. It seats between 250 and 300 people.

Interesting to note is that the word 'Mokha' refers to the Tswana name for Acacia sieberiana var. woodii or paperbark thorn.

This is a lovely venue for:

• Breakfast, lunch and dinner
• Functions e.g. weddings, year-end functions, corporate functions, book launches or any other special event
• Catering services are available

Opening hours:

The Restaurant is open 7 days a week from 08h00, but closure times vary. On Tuesdays, which is Senior Citizens' Day, a discount of 20% applies. This Restaurant is privately operated by an outside company.

Milkplum Cafe Function & Conference Centre

Milkplum Café Conference and Function venue is situated inside the Pretoria National Botanical Garden under beautiful, big shade trees. The green lawn and tranquil waterfall provides a perfect setting for visitors to relax and enjoy a meal. Coffee, traditional home bakes and light lunches are served during the week and buffets, braaivleis and potjiekos are served on weekends.

The Cougal Room can host up to 150 guests for functions, weddings and conferences. The smaller Weavers Room serves as a chapel, restaurant and dance area. Up to 100 guests can be served in the Coffee Shop.

Weddings, small dinners, baby showers, theme evenings, product launches, wine and whiskey tasting and themed dinner and dances can be accommodated.

Opening Hours:

Milkplum Café is open 7 days a week. Free entrance for functions after 18:00.
