The South African National Biodiversity Institute’s (SANBI) Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens notes the postponement of the 2020 Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show. Given the COVID-19 outbreak, SANBI and Kirstenbosch are in full support of this decision and committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our team.

The Chelsea Flower Show has been held annually in the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London since 1912 and is the most famous flower, landscape and garden show in the world. Our design team and horticulturists work hand-in-hand with an enthusiastic team of volunteers – who make it all possible.

“Our team has worked incredibly hard over the past few months and we would like to thank everyone for their efforts and support. We look forward to sharing our concept and design with the public in future, as well as once again bringing home Gold for SANBI and Kirstenbosch in 2021” concluded Carmel Mbizvo, Acting CEO of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI)
