A secluded area in the centre of the Garden, the Marquee Lawn is surrounded by trees, making it the perfect outdoor venue for private functions.
It is big enough to house a marquee tent should one be wary of the likelihood of inclement weather, but has also been used as an open air ‘chapel’ for nature lovers’ weddings. It can easily be closed off from the general public so that the invited guests and participants can have it to themselves.
When not in use as a private venue, its main feature is a flower bed, where the hard to grow blousterretjies (Nivenia stokoei) flowers in wonderful blue profusion from February into March.
Toilet facilities are conveniently situated between the conference facility and the restaurant within easy reach of the area. A toilet for the disabled and baby changing station are also situated there.
