Deck of the Mokha Restaurant overlooking the Garden and wetland

The artificial wetland and restaurant form the focal point of this section.

The wetland is very popular with visitors who frequent the restaurant. The restaurant’s wooden deck offers spectacular views across the Garden. It also gives visitors the opportunity to see some of the resident water birds and other bird species that frequent the wetland regularly.

Various informative, attractive information boards highlight essential elements of wetland ecosystems and are popular with the general public, students and scholars.

Wetland signage

The newly developed self-guided Tree Route follows the pathway adjacent to the wetland dams, offering visitors a close-up look of many different Vachellia (formerly called Acacia) species that grow along this section of the route.
