Visitors to Kirstenbosch who are actively participating in the City Nature Challenge will enjoy free access to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden for the whole day, if they can show proof of their activity on iNaturalist
Your free pass to Kirstenbosch will be to present your smartphone at the Entrance gates, showing that you have loaded the iNaturalist app your with observations and evidence of having posted at least one observation on Friday before entering the Garden.
For people not using the App and but who are signed up for iNaturalist, and who only post observations from photos taken with their cameras, they need to contact Gigi (G.laidler@sanbi.org.za) before they come to Kirstenbosch for special arrangements.
Bring along smartphone, camera, binoculars
good walking shoes, hat, sunscreen
snacks and drinks as required
There will be signage at the entrance gates with instructions about loading the iNaturalist App and how to upload observations.
Free WiFi will be available at Vida eCafe and Moyo Restaurant for uploading observations
