The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) has announced today, 30 April 2024, that the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden remains open for patrons to access the garden.
“Following consultations with stakeholders, and based on the prevailing wind direction, we have decided not to close the Garden,” said Nontsikelelo Mpulo, director of Marketing Communications and Commercialisation at SANBI.
“We are monitoring the situation and following guidance from the SANParks Fire Chief. Further decisions will be taken should conditions change.”
