After heavy rains, we were blessed with beautiful sunshine for our Breast Cancer Walk/Run at the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden where community members of the Overberg region joined us. The event was officiated by our marketing officer, Delicia Appel, our local councillors Charmaine Resandt and Fanie Krige, who emphasized the importance of the event and what it stands for.
Participants came dressed in pink and others in humorous costumes to show their full support. We were also joined by our local firemen, cancer survivors and those that are still going through treatment. People of all ages walked together as a family, bringing together the Overberg community.
The walk took us through the rugged terrain of the trails in the garden and at the end of the walk, certificates of participation were handed out. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. John Eccles and the Park Run team who once again supported Harold Porter National Botanical Garden in preparation for this event.
