South Africa, through the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment submitted a proposal for the seventh funding allocation provided by the Global Environment Facility. The title of South Africa’s GEF 7 project is ‘Catalyzing Financing and Capacity for the Biodiversity Economy around Protected Areas (P170213)’.

This project will be co-implemented by the South African National Biodiversity Institute, South African National Parks, and iSimangaliso with support from the World Bank.

Part of the project approval process is to disclose the following project documents as per each institution’s public disclosure system.
