Call for Expression of Interest for executing entity of EbA Farm Project

As a Direct Access Entity of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), SANBI is working with national and sub-national partners to develop a Funding Proposal for submission to the Fund that focusses on building the resilience of smallholder and household producers to the impacts of climate change. The project, titled ‘Ecosystem-based approaches for transforming smallholder farming systems that are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change in South Africa’, or ‘EbA-Farm’ in short, will adopt a participatory, gender-sensitive and action-learning approach using ecosystem-based approaches to farming to enhance the resilience of smallholder and household producers in vulnerable catchments of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces. A USD25 million grant will be requested from the GCF to implement the project over an eight-year period.

SANBI is seeking Expressions of Interest from appropriately qualified and experienced institutions who would like to play the role of Executing Entity, should the proposal be approved by the GCF. The selected Executing Entity will partner with SANBI to finalise the development of the Funding Proposal over the coming months, in consultation with national and sub-national partners and with the support of project development consultants. Should the Funding Proposal be approved by the GCF, the selected Executing Entity will lead the implementation of the EbA-Farm project over its eight-year lifespan.
