HPNBG/PYEI 3

SANBI is seeking to appoint highly motivated administrators nationally to provide basic administrative support to the national and zoological gardens in South Africa.  These responsibilities  will include human resources administration, assets dispatch and verification, procurement, financial administration and to ensure effective and smooth administration of PYEI Projects.

This position requires the successful candidate to be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification with NQF level 4.  An NQF level 5 certificate equivalent qualification in administration will be an added advantage. The applicants must have minimum of 1 year relevant working experience in an administration support role. The successful candidate must possess planning, problem solving and decision making skills, the ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines and adapt as they change as well as respect for strict compliance and confidentiality. It is essential for the incumbent to have sound computer skills and experience in MS Office.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain sound interpersonal relations and have an excellent

spoken and written command of English, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Shortlisted candidates must meet the minimum requirements, reside in the municipal area of the city/town within which the position has been advertised and submit all the supporting documents as listed below.  Failure to submit all the requirement information will lead to an unsuccessful application.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial and procurement support to PYEI project funding
  • Assist with HR functions for staff such as  attendance register, leave records, timesheet management etc;
  • Assist with coordinating diaries for meetings/workshops, plan events for the project;
  • Keep proper records of all appropriate electronic and physical information relevant to the projects.
