PYEI (Presidential Youth Economic Intervention)

SANBI is seeking to appoint highly motivated administrators to provide excellent administrative support to the national botanical and zoological gardens in South Africa. These responsibilities will include consolidation of timesheets, project deliverables consolidation and reporting, expenditure reports, human resources administration,  procurement, financial administration and to ensure effective and smooth administration of PYEI Projects.

This position requires the successful candidate to be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification with NQF 4. A National Diploma/ Degree or equivalent qualification in Office Management of Administration will be advantageous. The applicants must have minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience in administration or relevant field. The successful candidate must possess planning, problem solving and decision making skills, the ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines and adapt as they change as well as respect for strict compliance and confidentiality.

It is essential for the incumbent to have sound computer skills and experience in MS Office. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain sound interpersonal relations and have an excellent spoken and written command of English, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prospective candidates must meet the minimum requirements, reside within the municipal area of the city/town within which the position has been advertised and submit all the supporting documents as listed below.  Failure to submit all the requirement information will lead to an unsuccessful application.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administration of PYEI project and consolidation of reports
  • Financial administration to PYEI project funding
  • Assist with Human Resources functions for staff such as attendance register, leave records, timesheet management etc;
  • Assist with coordinating diaries for meetings/workshops, plan events for the project;
  • Keep proper records of all appropriate electronic and physical information relevant to the projects.
