The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, efficient and enthusiastic individual to assist in the maintenance and development of buildings and structures at the Thohoyandou Botanical Garden.
The prospective candidate must be in possession of a Grade 10 with a trade test certificate in brick laying enhanced by at least 2–5 years relevant working experience. The incumbent is required to have a good command of spoken and written English as well as another official language, and interpersonal skills. A valid Code B drivers’ license is essential for this position and computer literacy will be an added advantage. The candidate must be able to perform weekend duties on a rotational basis.
Key responsibilities will involve:
- Operate and maintain construction machines and related power tools;
- Maintain structures in the garden;
- Maintain and develop hard landscapes in the garden;
- Assist in landscaping and other developments in the garden
SANBI offers an all-inclusive annual salary of R224 081.31
