The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires an efficient and enthusiastic person to implement physical asset management framework and policies through the receipt and capturing of assets in the asset register, distribute assets to asset business units and monitor assets through verification, evaluation and reporting in accordance with the PFMA and GRAP.

The successful candidate must be in possession of a three year National Diploma/Degree in Public Administration, Public Management, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, Logistics or Finance qualification, enhanced by two years relevant experience in the field of Asset Management.

The candidate should demonstrate good communication and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal relations are a prerequisite. The candidate must be highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and possess a valid unendorsed Code B driver’s license and willing to travel.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Monitoring of assets in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Financial reconciliation of assets
  • Maintaining record keeping.

SANBI offers an annual salary of R242 475.00 and additional fringe benefits.
