The South African National Biodiversity Institute is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide coordination, reporting, project and logistical support to the Office of the Head of Branch: BS&PA on the work being undertaken at Branch level.
This position requires a degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Natural Sciences or an equivalent and relevant qualification at NQF 7. An Honours or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage This position also requires a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, 3 of which should be in supervisory position(s).
The following competencies are required: excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; advanced report writing skills; knowledge about human resources, compliance, procurement and financial management within the context of a Public Entity; project coordination and project management knowledge and skills; planning and organising skills; and computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools (including Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook). General knowledge about conservation and biodiversity will be an added advantage. Candidates should be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel nationally and internationally.
Key Performance Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate, manage and report on projects for the Office of the Head of Branch: BS&PA;
- Ensure efficient execution of administrative, secretarial and logistical duties; and
- Ensure effective financial management and compliance;
