The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to assist the Senior Artisan to ensure that all projects and maintenance requests are completed according to specification within the budget and timeframes, using quality assurance standards.
This position requires a Grade 10, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 2 with 2 years of work experience in the relevant field, OR Grade 12, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 1 year of work experience in the relevant field. A Higher Education Qualification, Job Specific Qualification or equivalent qualification at NQF 5 will be an added advantage.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: ability to work under pressure, have good communication and interpersonal relations skills, able to problem solving, service focus and safety conscious. Being in possession of a valid B driver’s licence.
Key performance responsibilities include:
- Assist with construction service for various buildings at the garden
- Maintain infrastructure for estate
- Provide support with the maintenance and building equipment;
- Assist in the completion of generalist tasks; and
- Ensure safety and risk management.
