National Zoological Garden
The National Zoological Garden (NZG) is a rapidly transforming facility reporting to the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). It has an impressive animal collection, a breeding centre as well as a wildlife research centre. The NZG is well placed as an education and awareness platform for visitors comprising of educators, learners, students, special interest groups and the general public. The National Zoological Garden is looking for well-qualified, experienced, hard-working, enthusiastic and motivated person to be appointed as:
Driver/Messenger
Amongst others, the successful applicant will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Deliver people and goods in and around Southern Africa
- Transport waste to various disposal points
- Perform general driving duties such as collecting post, stock/spares and quotations from suppliers
- Ensure that all documents for collection or deliveries are correct
- Drive all the NZG vehicles and that of its stakeholders
- Assist with daily vehicle inspections for dents and scratches
- Comply with the Road Traffic Act
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s license with PDP
- 3 years’ working experience as a Professional Driver
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willing to work overtime when necessary
- Good communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Medically fit to pass pre-work entry medicals and public drivers permit
- Ability to drive different size and types of vehicles both manual and automatic
