Three (03) Year Contract
The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires the services of an enthusiastic, dedicated, professional and responsible person to develop, facilitate and coordinate the Biodiversity Education and Empowerment Programme, Greening Initiatives and Awareness-Raising Programme for the Biodiversity Education and Empowerment Centre at the Thohoyandou Botanical Garden.
This position requires a National Diploma in Environmental Education, Nature Conservation, or any related studies enhanced by 2 years relevant experience in Environmental Education. The incumbent must be computer literate and must have a working knowledge of MS Office programmes. The candidates must be in possession of a valid unendorsed Code B Driver’s license.
The position requires a confident communicator who is able to relate well with learners, educators and community members and have good interpersonal skills. The candidate should show an understanding of the Department of Education’s National Curriculum Statement (NCS) and the new Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) and have proven experience in working co-operatively as part of a team. The successful candidate must have good spoken and written communication skills in English and other two official languages.

- develop, implement and coordinate greening initiatives,
- develop, implement and coordinate the environmental awareness – raising programme
- contribute to the development and implementation of Capacity Development Programme
- identify, develop and strengthen networking structures and partnerships.
SANBI offers an all-inclusive annual salary of R310 457.07
