Groen Sebenza is aimed at developing priority skills in the biodiversity sector to create sustainable job opportunities for unemployed graduates. Groen (in Afrikaans meaning green) Sebenza (meaning work in isiZulu) brings young South Africans from previously disadvantaged backgrounds together with experienced biodiversity professionals to learn, grow and eventually gain the competence and confidence to embark on rewarding and meaningful biodiversity careers.
The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is pleased to announce a call for applications for internships in the following fields:

Requirements
Candidates must be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in the conservation of biodiversity. No prior working experience is required but a strong academic record at university will be an advantage. A driving license with at least one year’s driving experience will be an added advantage. These internships are only available to South African citizens and will be awarded in line with national equity targets.
Internship monthly stipend values (no other benefits apply as these are internship positions)

- GIS Remote Sensing (R7 150)
- Biological Invasions (R7 150 - R8 250)
