Advanced Diploma Horticulture (2024 - 2025)
The Kirstenbosch Scholarship was established in 1966 (through the generosity of Ms Yvonne Eustasie Partfitt) to enable suitably qualified candidates to aid in the preservation of the indigenous flora of South Africa.
We are pleased to announce a call for studies in 2024 (only towards Advanced Diploma Horticulture).
Only projects relevant to SANBI’s mandate and identified as a priority will be considered.
For specific projects see below:
- The effect of propagation medium, vegetative material and rooting hormones on the rooting of Endangered Protea angustata
- The effect of asexual propagation techniques and seed scarification on the propagation of Critically Endangered Aspalathus amoena and Cyclopia pubescens
- The effectiveness of Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in supporting conservation of threatened species
For other projects, please contact Rene du Toit at r.dutoit@sanbi.org.za before submitting an application to check if your proposal is suitable.
