Ecological Infrastructure for Water Security Project

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires an efficient and enthusiastic person to provide support for the finance and admin processes of the Ecological Infrastructure for Water Security Project (EIWS). The Project is a multi-faceted and multi-stakeholder project being implemented over five (5) years’ nationally and in selected catchments in two provinces. This project is funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA).

The successful candidate must be in possession of a three year National Diploma/Degree in Financial Management or any relevant tertiary qualification enhanced by 3 years’ relevant work experience. Familiarity with accounting processes and experience with GEF Funded projects would be very beneficial.

The candidate should demonstrate good communication and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal relations are a prerequisite. The candidate must be highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and possess a valid Code B driver’s license and be willing to travel.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial administrative and procurement support to the Ecological Infrastructure for Water Security
  • Project and office administrative support to the Ecological Infrastructure for Water Security Project
  • Logistics support to the Ecological Infrastructure for Water Security Project
  • Participation in relevant organisation meetings

SANBI offers an all-inclusive annual salary of R410 601.33
