The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires an efficient and enthusiastic person to render a productive service to all SANBI employees with regards to the implementation of Supply Chain Management Policy, which consists of processes, systems and procedures as illustrated in the PFMA and related legislations.

The successful candidate must be in possession of a three year National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing Management/Logistics or a relevant tertiary qualification, enhanced by 2 years’ relevant experience in the field of Supply Chain Management.

The candidate should demonstrate good communication and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal relations are a prerequisite. The candidate must be highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and possess a valid Code B driver’s license and willing to travel.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Bid administration.
  • Provide secretariat services to Bid Committees.
  • Prepare submission packs, agendas, signed minutes of all Bid Committees. Communicate submissions and decisions to clients.
  • Ensure documentation is aligned with recommendations from the committee.
  • Keep record of all minutes and recordings.
  • Maintain a register of all tenders or bids cancelled and awarded.
  • Ensure maintenance of Bid Register issued to monitor progress. Responsible for advertisement of bids.  

SANBI offers an annual salary of R242 475.00 and additional fringe benefits.
