SANBI is seeking to appoint highly motivated administrator to render effective and efficient services to all SANBI employees with regards to the implementation of SCM Policy, which consists of processes, systems and procedures as illustrated in the PFMA, SANBI SCM policies and related legislations.

This position requires the successful candidate to be in possession of an advanced diploma or degree  or equivalent qualification at NQF level 7 in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or equivalent qualification at NQF 7.  A relevant postgraduate degree, or equivalent qualification at NQF level 8 will be an added advantage.  Three years’ relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, with 1 year relevant experience in procurement, dealing with requests for proposals, and requests for quotations is a requirement.

The candidate must be in possession of a valid code B (unendorsed) driver’s license and be willing to travel nationally when required.

Extensive experience in customer service would be an advantage. Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act requirements and National Treasury Regulations is essential.   Ability to maintain sound interpersonal relations and to work in a methodical manner is essential. Excellent administrative skills, planning and organising skills, problem-solving skills; as well as communication skills (both written and verbal at all levels) is essential. Must have an excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook).

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Ensure implementation of Supply Chain Management Policies;
  • Provide guidance and advise on procurement processes and procedures;
  • Coordinate the management of RFPs and RFQs;
  • Coordinate and ensure effective iQual vendor Management, procurement system, and Central Supplier Database System.
