The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires the services of hardworking and self-motivated individual to maintain and assist in the development of Thohoyandou Botanical Garden, with the emphasis on machines, equipment and structures.

The successful candidate is required to display sound interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate in English (read and write) and any other official languages as well as have 2 years’ relevant working experience. The successful candidate must be willing to work independently as well as in a team.  The nature of this position requires hard and physical labour.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform basic maintenance of vehicles, tractors and lawnmowers.
  • Manage and control workshop tools and machines.
  • Maintain structures and irrigation system.
  • Carry out basic emergency procedures e.g. fighting fire, helping people to safety.
